When I painted this 2019 Christmas card I thought the new year will be interesting, with the UK leaving the EU and me finally applying for British citizenship. A few months later society has fundamentally changed and what we assumed to be normal life no longer applies. I will try and spend the time locked in at home creatively, but it also kicked off a greater need to connect with friends locally and in Germany and past and present. Looking back in life which hopefully will spark some ideas. In my day job we are also creative, thinking how we can cheer each other up in these difficult times, which is proving a great hit, online Friday drinks party, exercise classes and hobby classes. So hopefully this will soon be over and we will all return to normal but wiser and better.
